Favorite Games

#1: Medieval City Sim

Place buildings to build the city with the most points:

I loved this game. It uses Kenney’s Bit-Pack spritesheet and font. The game has good replay value, I think I played it 4 or 5 times before coming up with a good city.

#2: Amor Fati

Short, micro game with a great story.

This game got me real emotional. You click to place little people who wander around and eventually die. When two people hit each other a little heart appears, and you get some points. This was really short and more of a work of art than a game, but it was so well done that I had to include it.

#3: Ashes to Ashes

Great minesweeper / city-builder puzzle game.

You are attempting to complete the town surrounded by fire, so you have to be careful where you place buildings. Some building will create fires, others act as a fireblock. This game was a blast figuring out how to reorganize buildings.

Like Medieval City Sim, this uses Kenney’s Bit-Pack spritesheet.

Gameplay was around 15 minutes for me, very casual.

#4: Polterheist

Short adventure game where you play a ghost who has to investigate his death:

What drew me to this one was how you have to possess your former coworkers in order to progress through the level. The game was short, but the story and art were very well developed for the short time the creators had.

#5: Bloodless

Awesome 2D samurai fighting game.

I loved everything about the art, sound and mechanics of this game. It has a beautiful minimalist style and simple but effective level design. Just watch the trailer:

#6: Are you there?

Combat game that has you type out attacks

This was a novel idea. I loved the billboarded artwork and gameplay. You have to go through different stages collecting ‘letters’ that you can use to attack or unlock doors.
